Hello! My name is Kavish Shah, and I am a sophomore at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering studying electrical engineering. While much of my early experience came from developing full stack software and web applications, my time in college has given me the chance to really explore the hardware side of technology.
I have had a great time exploring these interests through different groups on campus. Currently, I am interning as an Asset Systems Engineer at IRWD, doing machine learning research at the VAST Lab and helping build medical devices with the Biomedical Engineering Society. Outside of pure engineering, I also serve as the Director of Recruitment for Bruin Strategy Network.
I created this website to showcase the projects and experiences I'm proud of, in a space that feels more personal than a LinkedIn profile or resume (both of which are linked via the icons).
However, I also wanted to shed light on a part of me that does not show up on these other platforms. As such, there is another section dedicated to the hobbies that make me who I am. The short version:
In my free time, you'll find me hitting the tennis courts, exploring local hikes, and lounging on my bed with my Kindle. One more thing, I love listening to podcasts, and my favorite is Morning Brew!

Created maintenance schedules for 50+ assets, cleaned up the EAM database to improve data access, and built Power BI dashboards from field testing measurements.

Investigating machine learning approaches to accelerate Boolean Satisfiability (SAT) solving processes at UCLA's VAST Lab.

Directing recruitment cycles for 400+ prospective candidates through a <3% acceptance rate and leading consulting engagements with Fortune 500 clients.

Engineered ground-up enterprise resource tracking software, boosting workflow efficiency by 30% for a 5-person team.

Founded digital literacy classes for seniors, dedicating 150+ hours to educate 60+ adults over 4 years.

Taught Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus to intermediate and high school students.

Worked 100+ hours in kitchen/cashier roles and redesigned storage layouts to improve efficiency by 20%.

Designed interactive forms using the T3 stack and built a pipeline to route requests for 50+ users and managers.

Guided early-education students in mathematics and reading foundations, graded student worksheets, and monitored progress.

Designed and fabricated a prototype pulse oximeter for real-time digital monitoring of heart rate and oxygen saturation.

Developed control circuitry and custom printed circuit boards (PCBs) for an oscillating desktop fan with temperature-triggered modes.

Engineered an IoT-enabled smart moisture-sensing storage pod to prevent humidity damage in medical and electronic devices.
